Art Gallery's Modernology is in!

These beautiful fabrics of rich blues in aqua and indigo, bright lime, soft grey and rose are Art Gallery's newest line of fabrics named Modernology - A revisit of Scandinavian Prints.

These blues are gorgeous.  Pat Bravo always does an modern eclectic mix of prints and these are beautiful.  I am thinking skirts in three of these prints for myself.  Send us pictures of your creations!  We would love to post them on our sharing day!

Art Gallery has a free downloadable quilt pattern with this colleciton. The name is Quiltology designed by Pat Bravo.   Link:  http://www.artgalleryfabrics.com/cgi-bin/fabricshop/projects.cgi?patternID=38

Hooray Ruby is in!!!

We have been waiting since May for these beautiful and sweet fabrics!  Ruby by Bonnie and Camille for Moda will quickly be one of your favorites too.  Retro, Dainty, and Quirky Flowers  in Ruby Red, Sherbet, Lime, Grey, and beautiful Aqua.

And we love the coordinates in Scalloped Stripes (this one reminds me of ice cream - doesn't it you?), Sublime Swirls, and rich polka dots!

What to make?  We have several patterns in stock for you - such as Snickerdoodle.  This little soft edge applique is made from Charm Packs! This one is on my to do list!

We thought this Little Louise quilt name Ruby's Ribbon box was so sweet and original.  Don't you love those borders!
The Jellybean quilt is one of my favorites.  It is made from a Jelly Roll.   This quilt will sew up quickly.  Reminds me of the hugs and kisses quilt pattern.  I love the floating diamonds.

And of course the ever popular SWOON.  This must be the pattern of the year!  Have you seen all of the quilts pictured on Camille Roskelly's blog Simplfy?  There are possibly a hundred -or more.
I think what I most like about this collection is the way in which all of the colors go so well together.  You could go modern, retro, or use them in one of your favorite 1930's patterns.  You can be confident that all of these colors and patterns will remain  fresh and bright when sewn together.  In the Swoon pattern, notice that just  two of the prints could be used together for a baby quilt or table topper.
Have you seen Bonnie and Camilles You Tube video of their Quilt Market Booth?  You can see more of their designs and creations.
Enjoy dreaming and creating!  And send us pictures of your projects.  We love to see them!

Create H.O.P.E Designs....

I stumbled across this charitable organization as I was viewing websites created by our new web designer/creater Like Sew Websites (YES WE ARE GOING LIVE WITH OUR .COM IN A FEW WEEKS)  Any way, this charitable organization was just "started in September of 2011 by a group of women with a collective desire to make a difference with their talents".  Their focus is orphaned children from around the world.  Look at their site....lots of giveaways as well as some pretty creative patterns for a very low cost.   100% of all funds generated will benefit designated foundations serving orphans and their communities.
This weeks pattern caught my eye, because you know I love Strawberry Fields.  Simply adorable.  The pattern was created and donated by Kristin Roylance of Cute Quilt Designs.

“All children really need to know is that they are loved and have a soft place to land”.
(Kristin Roylance…Cute Quilt Patterns).
Thank you Kristin for sharing your talents with us.
An upclose picture.  The PDF pattern is only $5 - you can have it in minutes! It takes a jelly roll (or scraps) and yes those borders are Minky.  Wouldn't this be cute in the new Ruby Fabrics???  Link to pattern: http://createhopedesigns.bigcartel.com/product/a-soft-place-to-land-quilt

I just purchased this pattern and checked my email - yay...the pattern was there waiting for me!  Enjoy their website - the pictures of the children will really touch your heart!

Zoologie Fun and What's new at Sisters & Quilters

Celeste of Southern Belle Designs shared with us her newest Zoologie quilt!  Isn't this so fun?  Click on the picture for a close up.  We love the way she alternated the light and the dark backgrounds creating a diagonal stripe.  The lime green border is perfect with all of those Zoologie prints.  Ann Kelle would be happy to see this - don't you think?  You can contact Celeste through her Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/people/southernbelledesigns    Thank you Celeste for sharing!  We love it!

What's new this week at Sisters & Quilters?  Hooray! We have several new bundles in stock, including......

Cosmo Crickets Circa 1934 by Moda.  We think these fabrics would make the perfect family room/entertainment room quilt with soft minky on the back.  Listen to these fabric names - Astaire, Ginger, Chaplin, Garbo, Davis, and Hayworth  - Yup, you guessed it 1030's Movie Stars.  My favorite is Astaire in Gold.

Funky Monkey by Erin Michael for Moda is definitely nostalgic and  reminds me of the holidays.  Maybe because I remember my Grandmother sewing Sock Monkeys for gifts.  Truly a favorite for many of us "older" quilters.

Delighted by The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake.  Amanda Herring of The Quilted Fish was featured earlier this week on our blog.  We also have the complete collection of Delighted in the 5" Stacker Bundles (charm packs).
Farm Fresh by October Afternoon for Riley Blake is another great seller.  We have just received another 9  5" Stackers (charm pack) - which we have sold out of twice.  We think this bundle would make darling tablecloths, aprons, place mats or table runners.  They would also be great borders for your quilts made from the Charm Packs.  We love the soft teal blue and brown together.

This new bundle is the Alphabet Soup Girl Collection by Zoe Pearn for Riley Blake.  We have almost sold out of our boys Alphabet Soup Collection and we loved it so much that we just recently purchased the girl's collection.  How fun are the red and green beads and the sweet little flower prints.  They are perfect for the little meowmonkeyladybugelephanowlbeeandgiraffe print.  We paired them with the Happier Green Floral also by Riley Blake.

Last but certainly not least is our Terrain Collection by Kate Spain for Moda.  Kate Spain's prints are always hot sellers and these fun bright foliage and floral prints are no exception.  I love them all but my favorite is the simple little blue and green leaf print.  Send us pictures of your projects with these Terrain fabrics - they sew up so beautifully.  We would love to see them together in a quilt.  We also have  Layer Cakes and a few Charm packs still available for sale.  Also, we have a Schibbles quilt pattern named "Spot" available that features these fabrics. You can make it with one or two charm packs. link:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/81280963/spot-schnibbles-charm-pack-pattern-by

If you have made any quilts or sewing projects with these fabrics, please send us your pictures.  We would love to feature you on our blog.  Have a wonderful weekend and I  hope it is warmer where you are - actually I 'm sure that it probably is!  We have just received our first snow here in mountains - (YES that four letter word!)  But that means....quilting time, hot cocoa, and maybe a 1930's movie.

Halloweeeeeeeeen!

We love Halloween. We have put together a collection of a few FREE table toppers, quilt patterns, and projects for Halloween. Plus we have linked you to some great free resources for your quilting projects and education.  I grabbed some photos of these projects and all credits and links are listed.  We are not making any money from these patterns.  They are for your enjoyment.  Enjoy.  Click on the link to below each picture to find your favorite pattern.

Pumpkin Patch Plaids by Becky Cogan.  This one is definitely a favorite. We love the combinations of plaids in this quilt.  What about using this pattern for a table topper and just using 4 large squares? Each large square is 18" finished.  And using up all those orange, green, and purple stash fabrics.  Click on the picture to view the beautiful colors.
