ANOTHER FUN SHARING DAY........

What fun creations for little boys.   And they coordinate! One of our customers, Roxanne of Ragz by Roxy,  designs and sells children's clothing and accessories.  We love the Ann Kelle Argyle fabrics that she purchased for these creations.

This Little Boys Fall Jacket made out of the Lime Argyle cotton fabric has flannel on the inside.  And look at the Grippy Sole baby shoes.   I think these ties will be an instant hit.  I don't remember anything this fun when my two guys were toddlers. We think this quilt would be really cute with the Meadow Friends Fabrics by Deb Strain for Moda.  We have put together two bundles - a girls and a boys.  We would be happy to cut you some 5" squares so that you can have a gender specific quilt if you choose.

Even the border appliques would work.  Those dragonflies would be easy to add in!

Totally off subject......What do you think?

My husband is a runner.  I am a walker.  He loves his new Vibram 5 fingers shoes, and I must say that they are quite the conversation starters.  Well, he has talked me into getting a pair.  He was so excited that he went with me to try them on.  They are so comfortable but I will admit I get strange looks.  My little toe doesn't like being separated from the group...but he is getting used to it  :)  Supposedly they will help exercise and strengthen the  muscles in my feet.  Hmmmmm  we will see.  What do you think?  Do you own a pair?  And if you do, please give us a review.

Meadow Friends will make you smile :)

Meadow Friends designed by Deb Strain for Moda are darling prints of frogs (which just make me happy), butterflies, birds, dragonflies, turtles, lizards, and more.  Even the background colors have fitting names; dirt brown, pond blue, grass green, posie pink or cloud white.

 We have put together a couple of collections for your quilts.  These prints would be so fun for those of you who design embroidered children s clothing.

OK.  I shouldn't have favorites, but I do - the frogs and the dragonflies!  Have a wonderful weekend.  And I hope you get some sewing time in.

Easy as 1 2 3.....Kumari 2 1/2" strip friendly

I love the Kumari Garden fabrics by Dena Designs.  They are so so bright and cheery.  This is definitely PINK. I chose the Rail Fence or Roman Square Pattern to piece the quilt because it was jelly roll friendly.   I actually purchased 11 fat quarters for the blocks before I decided what I was going to do ( I had plenty left over). Then I cut 2 1/2 inch strips combining random fabrics in groups of 3.   Sew 3 strips together with quarter inch seams.      Note in picture that there are 3 strips to each square.   I cut each sewn strip of 3 into  6 1/2" in length forming a 6 1/2"  block ( the extra 1/2 allows for quarter inch seams).  Sew blocks together alternating layout.

The finished blocks are 6 inches square. There are 6 blocks across and 7 down, alternating layout.   I added a bright yellow flower just For interest and fun.  We sell the fat quarter bundle, but I can calculate a jelly roll for you, if you would like.  Except for the applique (applied with the Shades Soft Fuse), the quilt works up fast and easy. Finished size with borders is 44" x 50".  It was quilted by Leisha Farnsworth of Quilt It and pieced by me, Kristin.

I really like the yellow with the pink.  There are several yellow polka dot strips in the quilt, but in the picture they tend to pop and you only see a couple.

2 New Collections in one day!

Just arrived are fabrics from the Heirloom Collection by Joel Dewberry for FreeSpirit Fabrics.......a beautiful and serene Citrine Palette of amber, opal, dandelion, and jade!  We really haven't had anything from the dandelion and jade palette in Sisters & Quilters, so we are very happy to add them to our fabric selection.   Sandra has mixed these with a few of the new Taza fabrics to create this beautiful collection.   

AND.... fabrics from Dena Designs Taza Collection. Again, Dena Designs delights us with  a beautiful fresh, modern floral with some traditional coordinating fabrics in reds, fuchsia, pink, and yellow.  (Dena Designs is the designer of one of our favorites - Kumari Garden)  Sandra has mixed the Taza  collection with the Meadowsweet Vintage Paisley to create another perfect collection.
