New Fabric Collection.......

Countdown to Christmas by Sweetwater for Moda.   These are so fun!  Words of Merry Christmas, Love, Peace, Joy, and Hope with darling reindeer, trees, and snowflakes.  You will love these fabrics!  We have Fat Quarter Bundles and Layer Cakes as well as a selected group of fabrics for your borders and binding.

New Little Boy Prints

We received Modas Lil' Rascal fabrics and have created a cute bundle of 8 fabrics. Here is a possible little boy quilt that could be made with these cute little dog prints. What do you think?

What to do with a layer cake.....

Last Christmas I purchased my first layer cake.  I loved it!  12 Days of Christmas by Kate Spain.  I chose to sew them together with a finished 3/4" sashing, creating a windowpane effect.  So easy, it sewed up very quickly and I didn't need a pattern.  I read somewhere that the more narrow the sashing, the easier it is for the eye to connect the blocks. The wider the sashing, the more separate the blocks appear, each standing on it's own.  I chose sashing to separate the fabrics to show them off,  but made it narrow to connect the blocks.

Have you seen Kate Spain's new Christmas fabric?  It is Flurry and it just hit the stores.  Again, a bight and cheery palette with a panel that reminds me of a cozy sweater  - with an fresh updated Swedish look.   

I know, your thinking,  "wait.....it's still June and I'm enjoying the flowers, green grass, and waiting for those seedlings to pop!"  .........choose a summer print layer cake like Strawberry Fields.....it's a quick project.

What to do.....

We have this new pattern by Thimble Blossoms in stock and the fabric collection Ruby associated with this pattern does not come out until October.  So, what to make it up in now?  Any ideas?  I am thinking about Strawberry Fields in the Red/Grey Collection.
